About Barun Hydropower Co. Ltd.

Barun Hydropower Company Limited (BARUN) is a Nepali hydropower company, established on 2060/10/06 BS (early 2004) as Barun Hydropower Development Company Ltd. and converted into a public limited company in 2066 BS. It was listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) in October 2015 under the Hydro Power sector. Its principal asset is the 4.5 MW Hewa Khola Hydropower Project, a run-of-river scheme in the Sankhuwasabha district of eastern Nepal (Koshi Province), which has been in commercial operation since August 2011. Electricity generated is sold to the Nepal Electricity Authority under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement.
