Laxmi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. is a Class-D (national level) retail microfinance institution and a subsidiary of its promoter, Laxmi Bank Limited; it is noted as the first microfinance institution registered as a subsidiary of a commercial bank in Nepal. It was registered as a limited company on 30 November 2010, received its Class-D operating license from Nepal Rastra Bank on 6 March 2012, and began formal operations on 4 June 2012 from its first branch in Battar, Nuwakot.
